Douglas is an associate of Sato + Partners that would be available to work with executives of experience-design and innovation to build the organizational capability that produces meaningful innovations, innovations that are customer driven, and produce economic value for the organization.  Sato +Partner’s approach of  using “design  thinking” to address the challenge of producing meaningful innovation  is supported by  sound organizational development practice that includes skill and talent evaluation, organizational design, and cultural change work.

Douglas is currently the Manager of Organizational Development in the imaging and printing business of the Hewlett-Packard Co. He leads organizational development initiatives that support the execution of business strategy. Areas of focus include: business transformation, customer experience based innovation, business performance measurement, and new business creation.

Prior to his current role, Douglas served as a business strategist for the OpenView software business of the Hewlett-Packard Co. In this role, he developed and managed the implementation of the business scenario planning process, managed the Balanced Scorecard implementation, and conducted organizational culture analyses on acquisitions.

Before joining the Hewlett-Packard Co., Douglas worked for a business development consulting firm, managing projects to re-design product development lifecycles. Douglas also served as Faculty Associate in Arizona State University’s Organizational Communication Department for three years. Here he designed coursework, field research projects, and instructed courses in: organizational communication, large and small group dynamics, qualitative research methods, and public speaking.

Douglas has Masters of Arts degree in Organizational Communication and Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Communication from Arizona State University.

 Douglas has a passion for fly fishing surpassed only by his dedication to his wife, Janie, and three children, and to finding the perfect wave. The coastal life drew Douglas some 10 years ago, and surfing serves as his personal reflection time. Douglas is also actively involved in local schools on questions of leadership development, governance, and extracurricular programs.
