Roy Luebke is an innovation and strategy expert focused on implementing structured innovation planning methods, establishing innovation centers of excellence and competence, and linking business strategy to innovation actions that create real business growth. He has been creating business, product and service strategies within the technology and healthcare industries for nearly 30 years.
Recently Roy was the Director of Innovation Capabilities with a start-up consulting firm were he was responsible for educating senior leaders on ways to break barriers and identify new opportunity areas, change culture and processes to support breakthrough innovation, and link innovation planning to strategy. He executed client engagements to identify desired customer experiences, discover new market opportunities, and maximize a portfolio of offerings. His client engagements included work with consumer packaged goods and technology-based companies.
As an innovation expert with senior leadership and consulting experience in product management, strategic marketing, and business strategy development, Roy previously served as Vice President of Product Management for Optio Software, and led product management and marketing for WebMD Practice Services, Seagate Technology, and Misys Healthcare Systems. He has led the creation and commercialization of dozens of technology-based products and services with both large corporations and start-up companies in a variety of industries.
Roy uses structured innovation planning techniques to discover, analyze and interpret user-centered insights and create disruptive new products and services. He has developed key innovation methods and product offerings that deliver sustainable competitive advantage for his clients' long-term growth. Roy uniquely focuses on blending portfolio planning with innovation practices to create business value by maximizing product and service offerings, business models, business processes and brand equity to enable companies to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
He possesses in-depth understanding of customer need and market trend evaluations and leverages his marketing research and business strategy planning skills to help clients systematically implement innovation tools, planning methodologies and processes across their organizations to foster profitable, organic growth.
Roy earned a Masters of Design Methods degree from the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Design, Chicago; MBA from the University of Maryland; and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems/Business from the University of Wisconsin.
Roy has a passion for history and visiting historical places. He can still navigate the black diamond ski slopes at Alta and Snowbird and keep up with his 15-year-old son, Jay, in most activities. He enjoys aviation and possesses his private pilot license. Roy is also an avid reader and lifelong learner, and a dedicated supporter of the Green Bay Packers.
