Steve Portigal is a customer researcher and design strategist with over 15 years experience in helping organizations connect their offerings to the unmet needs of customers.

In his consulting work Steve has worked extensively with executives, senior managers, designers, marketers, and strategists within hardware, software, and Internet technology companies, both enterprise and consumer-facing. His client companies have included Hewlett-Packard, Intel, SAP, Sony, IBM, Orange, eBay and Wells-Fargo.

Steve received a M.Sc. in Computing and Information Sciences from the University of Guelph, and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Toronto. He has taught Design Research at the California College of Art and the Involution Master Academy. Steve is an in-demand speaker and writer, having presented at corporations such as IBM, Nortel, eBay, and Microsoft, as well as delivering keynote addresses to conferences in the UK and India. Steve writes extensively about design, business, technology and culture, for interactions magazine, Core77, AIGA and others.

Steve is an avid photographer who has a Museum of Foreign Groceries in his home.
